Peyton Manning threw two touchdown passes to Marvin Harrison and the Indianapolis defense picked off Tom Brady four times in the Colts 27-to-20 win over the New England Patriots.
Former Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri booted two field goals in his return to New England, but also missed a pair as the Colts improved to 8-and-0. Manning completed 20-of-36 passes for 326 yards with two t-d's and one interception. Harrison finished with eight catches for 145 yards.
The 6-and-2 Patriots committed five turnovers and were penalized eight times for 81 yards.
The crowd booed Vinatieri on his made field goals but erupted in cheers when he missed. Before signing with the Colts in the offseason, Vinatieri helped the Patriots to three Super Bowl championships -- two on field goals in the final seconds. Cory Dillon had a pair of short touchdown runs for the Patriots and Stephen Gostkowski kicked two field goals.
The Colts are the first team to start consecutive seasons 8-and-0 since the Green Bay Packers did it three straight years from 1929 to 1932.
