Top-ranked Muncie Burris claimed its 10th straight I-H-S-A-A Class 2-A state volleyball championship by sweeping Fairfield 25-to-17, 25-to-13 and 25-to-17 today at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Burris, which has 13 overall titles, has won all 10 Class 2-A championships since the I-H-S-A-A turned to class play in the 1997-98 school year.
The Owls showed an abundance of talent in improving their record to 35-to-5 with their third straight championship match sweep. They advanced to the finals by sweeping Brownstown Central 25-to-22, 25-to-23 and 25-to-11 earlier Saturday.
