What is RSS? RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format of XML that repackages a website as a list of data items. The data items sometimes contain dates, headlines, descriptions and links to full articles or websites. Programs called RSS Readers can periodically check an RSS feed and display any updates it finds. Many news sites and Blogs (weblogs) provide RSS feeds. Sometimes they provide a link to their feeds with icons like these:
