Welcome to the NewsCenter 16 newsroom! As the name implies, it is truly the center of our daily news gathering. A staff of about 50 reporters, producers, and video photographers create the 24-hour, 365-day-a-year operation. Most stories are anticipated (like groundbreakings, festivals, and sporting events), but sometimes, "spot" news occurs (like fires, storms, or accidents). These "breaking" stories can send the newsroom in a different direction in a matter of minutes! NewsCenter 16 was honored by The Associated Press as having Indiana's Best Newscast for five years in a row (1994-1998) and won more news awards than all of the other local stations combined in 1999.
