Welcome to the great outdoors! It's our satellite dish yard, where a dozen large and small dishes sit side-by-side all year long, to receive feeds being transmitted from New York, Los Angeles, and other great locales. Most of the shows you see on Channel 16 are first received via satellite, then recorded on videotape, and played at their scheduled time. We also receive many commercials via satellite. Each satellite dish is remotely controlled by our Master Control staff, and mere inches in dish position can mean the difference between a good and terrible TV signal. Severe weather and solar flares can also affect a satellite transmission.
